Copy Editor & Copywriter

First Station Media is looking for a full-time seasoned copy editor and copywriter. As such, you will be responsible for writing and editing copy for social media, press releases, flyers, brochures, websites, etc. You will need an eye for detail, strong writing skills, and impeccable composition and editing skills. In addition, you will also be responsible for working, communicating, and collaborating with other copywriters as well as graphic designers and web developers. A strong background in digital media, including web editing, social media, and SEO, is strongly preferred. Duties and Responsibilities • Write and edit copy for social media posts, including Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Instagram • Compose and edit copy for press releases, brochures, flyers, and other forms of advertisements • Research industry trends • Communicate with copywriters, graphic designers, and clients • Follow First Station Media guidelines and processes • Be open to constructive criticism and bring creative, innovative ideas to the rest of the team Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Immaculate writing and editing skills • Knowledge of social media platforms and how they work (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) • Background in SEO and digital content, including web editing, strongly preferred • Eye for detail • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Highly organized • Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision and also in a group setting • Ability to multitask • Experience and comfort with social media; willing to become verified by specific platforms Education and Experience • Bachelor’s Degree or working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (English, journalism, and/or literature); candidate must possess impeccable editing skills; grammatical and punctuation prowess are EXTREMELY important.
