Coordinator, Business Development (Tax)

They are seeking a Coordinator for Business Development in their Tax practice to support various marketing initiatives, manage business development activities, and coordinate client-facing events.ResponsibilitiesWorks with Tax business development team members to provide support for the full range of practice group marketing and business development activitiesMaintains organization of the Tax business development function through a number of efforts, including:Coordinates and tracks the status of various business development initiatives and eventsMonitors and assesses pitch and proposal activities; follows up with team members to document and share outcomes and best practicesCompiles and tracks practice matter experience in the firm's global databaseMaintains list of memberships/sponsorships, handling deliverables and tracking ROIGathers and maintains information on business development plans and budgetsAssists other Tax business development team members with the creation, preparation, and coordination of RFPs, proposals and pitches for new business opportunitiesCollaborates with Firm Experience team on the collection of matter descriptionsAssists in coordinating and tracking overall thought leadership opportunities, including speaking engagements and articlesMaintains and updates marketing collateral, including relevant practice group brochures, one-pagers, PowerPoint decks, attorney bios, experience lists and client mailings, among othersCoordinates with Events team and others on in-person and virtual conferences, seminars, forums, sponsorships and speaking engagements; assists with internal and external events as needed, including on ground supportCoordinates with Strategic Intelligence team to generate reports on clients and prospects, industry and market trends and competitive intelligence reportsSupports in-house CLE presentations, coordinating logistics, materials and CLE creditLeverages Firm CRM and Experience databases to identify and confirm relationship targets and relevant experience for business development opportunitiesCoordinates with Marketing team to update and maintain various Firm mailings lists used for event and client mailingsCoordinates with Marketing Communications and Social Media team on communications pieces to promote the Firm, practice and attorneysDemonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with othersManages Firm resources responsiblyComplies with and understands Firm operation, policies and proceduresPerforms other related duties as assignedSkillsKnowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new software and operating systemsDemonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writingDemonstrates close attention to detailAbility to handle multiple projects and shifting prioritiesAbility to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentialityAbility to organize and prioritize workAbility to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environmentAbility to work well independently as well as effectively within a teamFlexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needsBachelor's degreeMinimum of one year of related experience in a law firm, or two years of related experience in a professional services environmentBenefitsCompetitive salaries and year-end discretionary bonuses.Comprehensive health care (medical, dental, vision), savings plan/401(k) and voluntary benefits.Generous paid time off.Paid leave options, including parental.In-classroom, remote, and on-demand learning and professional development opportunities.Robust well-being classes and programs.Opportunities to give back and make an impact in local communities.Company OverviewSkadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates delivers the highest quality advice and novel solutions to legal challenges, enabling clients to achieve their business goals.
