A startup CPG company is looking to add a Controller to their team. In this newly created position, the Controller will be responsible for owning the GL and month-end close, COGS, and spearheading system implementation projects. What do you need for this Controller role?
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or related field
15 years of accounting experience
MUST have food or beverage experience
If not food or beverage experience, then CPG with public accounting experience and a CPA
Advanced Excel
What will you do in this Controller role?
Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights to the leadership team.
Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimize financial resources to support growth.
Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and banking relationships.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings.
Establish, document, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies.
Coordinate external audits and act as the primary point of contact for auditors.
Implement and maintain accounting and financial reporting software.
Continuously improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency and scalability.
