Contract SolidWorks Design-Engineer for Custom Casework, Displays & Fixtures, and Retail Builds. - Contract to Hire
Description: We’re looking for experienced SolidWorks design-engineers to support our team with contract-based design work for custom casework, tradeshow environments, retail builds, live events, and fixturing. You’ll be given direction and assets from our team (sometimes detailed sketches, sometimes rough concepts, sometimes creative or architectural drawings), and your job will be to: - Develop buildable 3D models and shop drawings - Ensure proper joinery, hardware, material, and finish callouts - Work within our fabrication methods and capabilities - Deliver clearly organized SolidWorks assemblies and PDF drawings for our shop team and clients What We’re Looking For: - Strong SolidWorks skills — especially with assemblies and drawings - Experience with custom fabrication in casework, scenic, tradeshow, retail, or exhibit builds - Familiarity with typical manufacturing processes and build techniques - Ability to take a rough sketch or concept and develop it into a fully detailed, buildable design - Knowledge of materials like wood, laminate, metal, acrylic, finishes, and the vast world of hardware - Clear, responsive communication and a collaborative mindset — we value designers who ask the right questions and keep work moving How We Work: - We’re a custom fabricator working across retail, tradeshow, live events, and architectural millwork - We primarily use SolidWorks and Mastercam, but also occasionally work with SketchUp, Rhino, Magics, and other software depending on project needs - We communicate via Zoom, Slack, and email, and expect timely delivery of organized files Apply tot his job Apply tot his job Apply tot his job Apply tot his job
