Contract Legal Nurse Consultant - Level I

Remote Full-time
Responsible for efficient review, analysis, and summarization of medical and related records into a high-quality work product tailored to the client’s needs and project protocol.

· Understand and adhere to established project specific educational resources and guidelines;

· Perform thorough and accurate medical record review;

· Develop an accurate work product based on the medical records provided which is reflective of the project protocol;

· Assist in evaluating the severity of a case;

· Perform a self-quality review of work product prior to submission using the established quality review checklist;

· Prioritize assignments based on project guidelines, client service level agreements and due dates, and internal service level agreements and due dates

· Track and adhere to project deadlines and submit work product on or before internal or client due date;

· Complete urgent client requests which may require staying after hours or working weekends and/or holidays;

· Communicate with Project Manager/Project Lead to discuss issues or blockers which may impact deadlines;

· Communicate with Project Manager/Project Lead upon completion of assignment;

· Notify Project Manager/Project Lead when problems are identified with records received including incorrect bates format, wrong subject records, incorrect spelling of subject or custodian, incorrect labeling of items, or are otherwise problematic;

· May assist on multiple projects simultaneously as determined by the Project Manager/Project Lead;

· Meet designated project benchmarks and promptly escalate any issues or blockers that may impede progress to Project Manager/Project Lead;

· Submit time daily to appropriate database (s) immediately following task completion;

· Assist with “special assignments” as directed by Project Lead or Project Manager;

· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Nursing degree with 3-5 years of recent legal nurse experience and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical setting. We will also consider combinations of clinical and Legal Nurse Consulting experience. Computer and typing skills required including experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and e-mail usage with attachments is required. Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively. Attention to detail and a commitment to following defined standards for maintaining consistency and meeting project expectations. Demonstrates abilities to perform the tasks required as a nurse reviewer.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current licensure and in good standing with the Board of Nurse Examiners in the state of residence.

Pay: $36.00 - $38.00 per hour
