Description & Requirements

The Senior PLM for Process (Optiva) Consultant oversees and delivers Optiva implementation projects, with responsibility for solution design, configuration, and deployment. This role partners with clients to understand business needs, gather requirements, and configure solutions aligned to established best‑practice frameworks and client‑specific objectives.

The Senior Consultant works closely with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams to support successful project execution, contributes to knowledge sharing, and supports the development of less‑experienced consultants. This role integrates PLM domain knowledge, technical configuration and integration experience, and client‑facing consulting skills to support system adoption and measurable business outcomes.

A Day in the Life Typically Includes:
• Deliver full‑cycle Optiva PLM implementations, including requirements definition, solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, integrations, training, go‑live support, and hypercare.
• Facilitate business process workshops with R&D, formulation, quality, regulatory, procurement, and manufacturing stakeholders to document current and future‑state processes and translate them into system requirements.
• Design and configure Optiva modules supporting formulation and recipe management, bills of material, specifications, change management, labeling, regulatory compliance, and costing.
• Plan and execute data migration activities, including source mapping, data cleansing, transformation, validation, and cutover.
• Design and implement integrations between Optiva and ERP systems (e.g., M3, SAP, Oracle) and other PLM applications (e.g., Genesis, TraceGains) using APIs, middleware, or ETL tools.
• Develop test strategies and test plans; coordinate and support unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; track and address defects and functional gaps as well as develop training materials, deliver role‑based training, and support adoption through structured change management activities.
• Provide post‑go‑live support, including performance optimization, documentation, and operational runbooks; identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
• Act as a primary client point of contact for assigned workstreams; support communication related to scope, risks, issues, and deliverables, and contribute to resolution planning and support pre‑sales activities, including solution scoping, estimates, proposals, and product demonstrations.

Basic Qualifications
• Optiva PLM implementation experience, including experience supporting PLM solutions in process industries such as food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, or chemicals.
• Knowledge of process‑industry PLM capabilities, including formulation and recipe management, specifications, quality, regulatory compliance, and labeling.
• Experience integrating PLM solutions with other enterprise systems.
• Technical experience with SQL, C++, data migration tools, XML/JSON, REST or SOAP APIs, and middleware or ETL platforms.
• Experience working directly with clients, including facilitating workshops, gathering requirements, and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Experience documenting solutions with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to travel as required for client engagements.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Information Systems, or a related field or Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Optiva certification, if available).
• Experience in a consulting, systems integration, or PLM services environment.
• Experience configuring or administering Optiva, including familiarity with its data model and workflows.
• Experience with master data management, product costing, labeling regulations, and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with AWS or cloud‑based deployment environments.
• Experience coordinating work across multiple project workstreams and supporting the development of team members.
