The role of Functional Business Consultant involves supporting clients in leveraging technology for business transformation and operational excellence, requiring collaboration with various stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.ResponsibilitiesSupport requirements gathering including the creation, documentation, and refinement of user stories and contribute to the development and maintenance of the product designApply analytical techniques to gather and interpret data, identify issues, and develop preliminary recommendations for client challengesCollaborate with project teams, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive and productive team environmentSupport communication with stakeholders by preparing project updates, and documenting risks and issuesPrepare and deliver project updates, communicate risks and issues, and escalate concerns to senior team members as neededActively participate in client meetings and workshops, supporting discussion facilitation, and solution ideationContribute to the creation of functional specifications and design documents, translating business needs into actionable technical requirementsSet up and manage JIRA dashboards to track project progress, manage user stories and tasks, and provide actionable insights to the project team and stakeholdersParticipate in client workshops, meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions and collaborate with technical and business units to gather, analyze, and document functional requirementsTranslate business needs into clear and actionable user stories or functional specificationsAssist in analyzing current systems and workflows to identify improvement opportunitiesSupport Agile development teams during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and testing phasesCreate and maintain documentation including presentations, user stories, process flows, use cases, and functional designsDevelop foundational knowledge in relevant industry sectors or functional areas and assist in solution development through research and analysisProvide support in defect analysis and troubleshooting during various testing phases (Functional, SIT, UAT, Performance, Accessibility etc.), while identifying areas for improvementStay informed about industry trends in technology, AI/Agentic and Cloud computingRequire proficiency in AI and machine learning tools for data analysis, pattern recognition, and deriving actionable insights to optimize business operationsExpect skills in using AI solutions that automate repetitive tasks, increasing efficiency and allowing focus on strategic activitiesFamiliar with NLP technologies to improve client interaction, and to automate requirement gathering and analysisImplement AI-driven intelligent process automation to streamline routine tasks, such as setting up JIRA dashboards generating reports, etcKnowledgeable in AI tools to support optimization of project management and functional processes, as well as testing phases by automating test case generation, executing tests, and analyzing resultsDemonstrate understanding of ethical AI practices, emphasizing transparency, and accountability in AI usageSkillsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC)Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)Demonstrates a proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and technologiesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Jira, Confluence)Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPrior internship, academic, or project experience in a software development environment is a plusFamiliarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologiesExposure to business process modeling tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio)Certification in business analysis (e.g., ECBA, CBAP)Demonstrated leadership or teamwork experience through campus involvement or extracurricular activitiesBenefits$4,000 per year for mental health support benefits$1,300 flexible benefit spending accountFirm-wide closures known as "Deloitte Days"Dedicated days of for learning (known as Development and Innovation Days)Flexible work arrangementsHybrid work structureCompany OverviewDeloitte is a business consulting company that offers audit, consulting, financial advisory, and tax services.
