Conflicts Analyst I

The Conflicts Analyst I will support the Business Intake & Conflicts Department by conducting research and analysis related to potential conflicts of interest, ensuring compliance with firm policies, and facilitating the intake process for new business and employee hires. Responsibilities Process conflicts searches and conduct research related to new employee hires and new business requests, identifying potential ethical and business conflicts Review new client and matter submissions, preparing clear and well-organized written analyses to support attorneys in evaluating potential engagements Verify that all conflicts searches and corporate research are thorough, consistent, and aligned with firm policies and established procedures Help ensure new business requests move through the intake process efficiently, following up with attorneys and team members as needed to resolve outstanding issues Partner with specialists, coordinators, and colleagues to manage time-sensitive conflicts checks and support shared departmental initiatives Respond to department email communications promptly with accurate information while providing responsive support to attorneys and internal stakeholders Contribute ideas and feedback that enhance workflows, technology use, and operational efficiency across the Business Intake & Conflicts team Serve as a professional and approachable point of contact for Business Intake & Conflicts inquiries Assist with additional research, reporting, and special initiatives as assigned Skills Bachelor's degree required Strong ability to gather, interpret, and analyze information to identify potential conflicts and risk factors Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and analyses in a structured, professional manner Exceptional accuracy and organization when reviewing data, conducting searches, and documenting findings A team-oriented mindset with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and attorneys at all levels while maintaining a high standard of service Sound decision-making skills and the ability to evaluate complex information to determine potential risk or compliance concerns Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism Willingness to work occasional evening and weekend overtime when needed One year of experience in risk management, research, reference library work, conflicts searching, or a related analytical field Benefits Comprehensive healthcare Paid time off Retirement Personal support Tailored learning and development opportunities Company Overview Kirkland & Ellis is a law firm that offers a wide range of legal assistance in labor, government, and intellectual property litigation.
