Configuration Management Specialist

DescriptionGXM is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support configuration management and change control functions in support of Naval software development programs. The selected candidate will support efforts to establish, maintain, and control configuration baselines across multiple projects and work closely with software development, engineering, and customer stakeholders to ensure technical requirements, changes, and deliverables are properly documented, tracked, and approved.The candidate will apply configuration management best practices to support source code control, configuration library management, and change request processes, including participation in Change Control Boards (CCBs). This role requires collaboration with development teams and customers to maintain compliance with Department of War standards and support accurate technical documentation and reporting throughout the software development life cycle. This is a full-time, exempt position that may be performed remotely with short-term travel as required by the project. This position will be based out of Fredericksburg, VA with occasional travel to Dahlgren, VA.About GXMGXM is a team of creative professionals focused on solving problems for end users. If you are interested in working on challenging problems, having fun along the way with a group of passionate professionals, and making a difference for end users, you’ll fit right in at GXM.Roles and Responsibilities• Support configuration management activities for Naval software development projects• Perform configuration item identification and baseline definition• Manage source code control, configuration libraries, and change request processes• Track and manage configuration-related action items• Develop and maintain Department of War manuals and specifications• Prepare and contribute to technical reports• Collaborate directly with customers and engineering personnelRequirements• Must be a U.S. Citizen• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact directly with customers and engineering personnel• Three (3) years of experience serving as a logistics planner, configuration manager, or process improvement manager• Demonstrated experience using one or more Configuration Management (CM) tools to manage configuration baselines, source code control, and change requests (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, Subversion, or equivalent)• Experience performing configuration item identification, baseline definition, source code control, CM library use, and change request management• Experience supporting, participating in, or administering Change Control Boards (CCBs), including preparation, review, tracking, and disposition of change requests• Experience developing and maintaining Department of War manuals and specifications• Experience writing technical reportsDesired Qualifications• Experience supporting Naval or other Department of War software development programs• Prior military service or experience supporting Department of War operationsDesired / Professional Certifications• None specifiedEqual Employment Opportunity / Legal DisclaimerGXM Technologies LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility.
