CompTIA Exam Mentor & Student Support Assistant (Remote – Flexible Schedule)

Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated CompTIA Exam Mentor & Student Support Assistant to provide guidance, mentoring, and 1-on-1 or group coaching to students preparing for IT certification exams, including:
• CompTIA A+ (Core 1 & Core 2)
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+
• CompTIA CySA+
• CompTIA CASP+
The goal of this role is to reinforce what the instructor teaches, provide additional support, and help students gain a deeper understanding of the material to successfully pass their certification exams. This position is ideal for junior IT professionals, military candidates, or individuals who have recently obtained CompTIA certifications and want to assist others on their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1-on-1 and group coaching to students needing additional support in understanding course material.
• Assist students with exam preparation, study strategies, practice tests, and hands-on labs.
• Clarify complex IT concepts and help students apply them to real-world scenarios.
• Offer any of the following : daily, evening, and weekend availability to accommodate various student schedules.
• Support students in setting study plans and tracking progress.
• Encourage, motivate, and build student confidence in their ability to pass their exams.
• Work closely with instructors to identify students who need extra assistance.
• Utilize online collaboration tools (Zoom, Discord, Microsoft Teams, etc.) to facilitate discussions.
• Share your personal experiences and insights with students since you have passed the CompTIA exams.
Qualifications & Experience
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certifications (or higher) preferred.
• Experience mentoring, tutoring, or coaching others in IT-related fields is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively explain technical concepts.
• A passion for helping students succeed in their IT careers.
• Familiarity working with veterans, military personnel, or career changers is highly preferred.
• Junior IT professionals or military candidates looking to gain experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience as a tutor, lab assistant, or IT help desk support.
• Understanding of hands-on labs, simulations, and test-taking strategies.
• Knowledge of DoD 8140 and 8570 compliance for military IT certifications a plus.
