Compliance Specialist
Aeon is a nonprofit developer, owner, and manager of affordable communities in the Twin Cities. They are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Compliance Specialist to ensure regulatory compliance across a portfolio of multifamily tax credit and federally subsidized housing properties.ResponsibilitiesComplete income certifications for Housing Tax Credit, Section 8, and other housing programsReview and audit certification files to ensure accuracy and complianceProcess vouchers, maintain master files, and ensure adherence to HUD requirementsMonitor rent and income restrictions in accordance with funding agreementsIdentify, address, and resolve compliance issues in collaboration with the Compliance TeamSupport annual reporting requirements, including data entry into systems such as PORT and CHARTProvide training and guidance to site staff on compliance procedures and updatesCoordinate responses to property inspections conducted by monitoring agenciesOversee and support the Section 811 PRA program, including applicant intake and move-in coordinationConduct first-year Tax Credit file reviews and assist with audits and follow-upsTrack utility allowances and ensure ongoing compliance with program requirementsEnter and manage data within HMIS and prepare related reportsSkillsIn-depth knowledge of Section 42, Section 8, Section 202, RAD, HOME & Section 811Familiarity with HUD Handbook 4350.3 and EIVStrong organizational and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to engage in interpersonal communication is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectationsMust have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's diversity, equity, and inclusion effortsMust be a resourceful, problem solving, relationship-building, seeker of excellenceAbility to lift up to 10lbsAbility to reach above and below the shouldersAbility to sit and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to tour properties including but not limited to inspecting grounds, hallways, stairwells, and apartment homesAbility to file, open and close file drawers, and enter data into a computer for extended periods of timeExperience with property management software (e.g., Yardi, OneSite, Fortress)BenefitsMedicalDentalVisionLife insuranceShort-term and long-term disabilityRetirement planGenerous paid time offEmployee assistance programCompany OverviewAeon is a non-profit organization that develops, manages, and renovates housing apartments for individuals and families in the community.
