In this role, you will contribute to compliance oversight by reviewing and assessing external-facing materials and communications, supporting the management of third-party agreements and engagements, and assisting with the escalation and resolution of inquiries and complaints. You will serve as a key compliance partner to designated teams, promoting adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards. The position requires a strong understanding of Canadian laws relating to competition, drug advertising, consumer protection, anti-spam, privacy, health, and their applications.ResponsibilitiesReview marketing materials (including creative assets, copy, out-of-home campaigns, email content, social posts, and more) for compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and regulator guidance, providing compliant alternatives as neededAssist in the compliance-related components of 3rd party engagement managementAssist on customer escalations and support resolution processesCollaborate cross-functionally with clinical, customer experience, marketing, and product teams on compliance mattersAssist with regulator communication and responses, as neededConduct initial legal researchCreate clear, accessible, compliance documentation to assist non-compliance team members in understanding and applying conceptsSupport other ad hoc compliance activitiesRequirementsCompletion of relevant post-secondary educationFamiliarity with relevant roles and technologies, including Google Suite, Adobe Suite, Notion, and Claude (or similar AI tools)Exceptional analytical and decision-making abilitiesStrong organizational and planning skillsExcellent English language written skills and keen attention to detail, including ability to create, edit, and proofread technical legal documentsComfort with ambiguity, an ability to create clarity within grey areas, and an eagerness to problem solve and build a strong compliance programAssets1+ years of experience in a customer-facing, legal or compliance role1+ years of experience with Canadian advertising laws in a highly regulated environmentFrench language proficiencyEducation in a legal or policy-related fieldCompletion of IAPP’s CIPP/C or equivalent with a focus on privacy and AIExperience communicating or collaborating with Canadian regulatory bodies (e.g. Ad Standards Canada, Health Canada, Office of the Privacy Commissioner)BenefitsFull medical, dental, and vision benefitsMaternity/paternity policy4 weeks’ vacation (3 weeks anytime + 1 week during the holidays)Competitive compensationStock option grantRemote first, work from anywhere in CanadaIncredible culture powered by highly collaborative and high-performing teamsLarge impact at an early-stage technology companyProfessional development opportunities, working closely with founders and the senior leadership teamSeniority Level: Entry-levelLocation: Toronto, Remote (Canada).
