We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Assistant - Sanctions Screening to join our Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) team. As a critical member of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring that American Express adheres to international regulations and identifies potential risks associated with sanctioned persons and entities.
About the Role
The Compliance Assistant - Sanctions Screening will be responsible for conducting sanctions and politically exposed persons screening using our enterprise screening tool, Bridger. You will perform enhanced due diligence research, collaborate with lines of business and market compliance teams, and contribute to the development of automated transaction monitoring rules and reports.
Responsibilities
Conduct sanctions and politically exposed persons screening in Bridger, the enterprise screening tool
Perform enhanced due diligence research
Collaborate with lines of business and market compliance teams
Qualifications
Keen attention to detail in investigation, analysis, and documentation
Understanding of AMEX's Sanctions, PEP, and RCA regulations
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Computer and internet research skills
Knowledge of both Dow Jones and LexisNexis
Knowledge of applicable AMEX internal systems
Effective communication and excellent writing skills
Ability to manage multiple and varied projects simultaneously
Bachelor's degree preferred
