As a Personal Support Specialist, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with our clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans. This is a remote-based position with opportunities for in-person interactions with clients. Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate and personalized care to individuals in need, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Monitor and administer medications, as well as maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the well-being and independence of clients. Perform tasks assigned by the Supervisor, including reporting on client assignments and progress. Maintain client confidentiality and follow universal precautions/proper infection control when providing client service. Follow emergency procedures in the event of any medical or non-medical situations and report any incidents immediately to the Supervisor. Record each activity performed on each case on a daily basis and submit Daily Activity Sheets accurately on a timely basis. Follow instructions, be punctual, and attend work as scheduled, adhering to agency policies and procedures. Attend in-service education annually per agency policy. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: PSS Certificate or CNA certification. At least 1 year of experience in the care of clients. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Comprehensive background check (including criminal check). Willingness to relocate to Lewiston, ME before starting work. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly preferred: High school diploma or equivalent. Current CPR certification. Previous experience working in home care or a related field.
