About the Role As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you'll be the primary point of contact for patients and caregivers who are part of self-directed Medicaid programs. You'll provide compassionate and professional support, answering calls, responding to questions, and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that patients receive the care they need, and caregivers receive the support and compensation they deserve. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming calls from patients and caregivers, providing empathetic and professional support Assist with enrollment, program applications, and setup in applicable systems Retrieve information to address payroll-related inquiries and concerns Utilize de-escalation techniques to resolve issues and calm frustrated callers Offer guidance and directions to patients and caregivers to effectively resolve issues Document information and outcomes as necessary Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or related industry Strong computer skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and navigate complex systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner Empathy, patience, and a friendly demeanor, with the ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged calls Great active listening skills, with the ability to understand and address the needs of patients and caregivers Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document information and outcomes The ability to multitask and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment A quality-focused mindset, with a desire to achieve first-call resolution whenever possible The ability to accurately and confidently work with numbers and discuss financial information Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working with Medicaid programs or other healthcare-related services Knowledge of payroll processing and related systems Previous experience working in a remote or flexible work environment Technical Requirements To work from home as a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you'll need: A computer meeting the following specifications: Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (Macs and Chromebooks are not supported at this time) Memory: 8GB of RAM CPUs (Speed * Processors): 6 Hard Drive: At least 500MB of free space Sound: sound card (standard on most computers) Up-to-date antivirus software Access to high-speed, hardwired internet (no Wi-Fi or Satellite) Dual monitors A USB noise-cancelling headset A webcam for certification purposes Flexible Scheduling and Hours of Operation As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you'll enjoy flexible scheduling, allowing you to choose when you work and when you don't, within the client's hours of operation. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET. Please note that you'll need to service at least 20 hours per week, with some hours on Mondays and Fridays, as these are particularly busy days. Compensation and Benefits This flexible opportunity pays independent contractors $13 per hour.
