Commercial Credit Analyst

Job Description:Shift has a 10-year history of solving complex problems for Australia businesses. As a Credit Analyst you will be an important part of the customer journey and will work closely with a range of customers and brokers to assess credit applications using both bank statements and financial statements as well as other resources and tools to determine credit worthiness of applications.Your enthusiasm and drive will lead to continued success in being able to identify customer needs and source and recommend a variety of products that service those requirements.QualificationsTertiary qualifications preferredPreviously held DLA for commercial / business lendingBusiness Acumen and sound knowledge of SME marketPrior Experience required:A track record of delivering excellent customer serviceExperience assessing commercial credit based on Financial statements, bank statements and non-traditional dataExperience working with data in risk or analytics role advantageous but not essentialExperience with finance products embedded in Point-of-sale environment is advantageous but not essentialStrong analytical skillsAdditional InformationFinancial Analysis:Provide efficient and effective financial analysis and credit risk assessment through performing financial analysis of customer bank statements and financials to recommend or approve limits which are aligned to Shift’s credit appetite for lending which is considered at the margin across the entire customer lifecycle.Accurate recording of key risk factors within credit assessment to clearly identify risks and provide mitigation to support decision making.Detailed assessment of applicant’s profile, industry risks and financial position from information to handEnsuring correct products and services are applied to customer applicationAbility to prepare quantitative and sound credit assessments for recommendation to higher delegation holders for decision.Communications & Engagement:Ability to conduct phone interviews with applicants and brokers to discuss loan applications which may include negotiation of key criteria to ensure Shift’s position is not compromised.Build meaningful relationships with peers (inside and outside team), internal stakeholders and other teams to support business performance and maximise Shift’s value proposition.Clearly communicate to customers and brokers questions required to make decisions and final decisions made in a professional mannerCompliance:Adherence to Shift’s Credit Underwriting standards and guidelines as well as compliance with policy and standards expected regarding reporting and documentation.Ensure data integrity in all core systemsEnsure all compliance training is up to dateStakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement:Provide coaching and support to Relationship Managers and Sales teams to support their upskillingIdentify potential process / service enhancements to improve team outputs.#LI-Hybrid
