Comic Translator and Proofreader Needed – English to Portuguese(Br), Italian; Korean to English - Contract to Hire

We are looking for experienced and creative translators and proofreaders to adapt our digital comics from English into English to Portuguese(Brazilian), Italian; Chinese and From Korean to English. Our comics include a mix of dialogue, humor, and emotional storytelling, so we need translators who can go beyond literal translation and capture the tone, style, and cultural nuances of each language. Your responsibilities: - Translate comic scripts from English into your native language (English to Portuguese(Brazilian), Italian; Chinese; Korean to English). - Adapt slang, idioms, and humor to fit the target audience naturally. - Ensure all translations maintain the intended tone, pacing, and emotional impact. - Follow formatting and character limits to fit text into comic speech bubbles. - Proofread and ensure consistency across episodes. Requirements: - Native-level fluency in one of the target languages. - Strong understanding of English/Localization language. - Previous experience translating creative content, ideally comics, manga, or graphic novels. - Attention to detail and sensitivity to cultural nuances. - Ability to meet deadlines. Nice to have: - Familiarity with webtoon-style comics or the comic industry. - Experience working with translation tools or editing text directly in design files.
