Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and student-focused College Counselor to guide high school students through the college planning and application process. The counselor will work closely with students and parents to create personalized college strategies and ensure timely, high-quality applications.
Key Responsibilities
Guide students through the full college admissions process (Grades 9–12)
Help students build balanced college lists (reach, target, safety schools)
Advise on course selection, extracurricular planning, and academic profiles
Support application timelines, deadlines, and submission strategies
Review and provide feedback on:
College applications
Personal statements and supplemental essays
Activity lists and resumes
Provide guidance on:
SAT/ACT planning (in coordination with tutors)
AP course planning
Scholarships and financial aid basics (FAFSA, merit aid awareness)
Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students and parents
Maintain clear documentation and progress tracking
Coordinate with eTutorsZone academic and test prep teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
3+ years of experience in college counseling, admissions, or related roles
Strong knowledge of:
US college admissions process
Common App, Coalition App, and UC applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Student-first mindset with strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Background in school counseling or university admissions
Experience working with international or diverse student populations
Familiarity with scholarship programs and merit-based admissions
Compensation
