Responsibilities
The Collections Specialist is responsible for administrative tasks, the collection of outstanding account receivables (insurance & patients), all aspects of collection, analysis, and resolution of billing problems, and reducing accounts receivable delinquency.

Essential Duties
• Provide customer service regarding collection issues.
• Resolve insurance discrepancies and short payments.
• Utilize knowledge of payor portals, automated clearing houses, explanation of benefits (EOB’s), and other tools to successfully complete Accounts Receivable tasks.
• Document in detail problem/action/and follow up with insurance companies until claims are fully adjudicated.
• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts.
• Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
• Initiate and resolve Appeals for many different insurance payers as assigned.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED required, college degree is preferred.
• Three (3)-five (5) years’ high volume collections experience.
• Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience preferred.
