We're looking for a versatile COBOL/SQL Developer who combines strong business analysis skills with hands-on development expertise. In this hybrid role, you'll work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality custom applications.
What You'll Do
ā¢ Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
ā¢ Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and solution discussions.
ā¢ Design, develop, test, deploy, and support custom applications and enhancements.
ā¢ Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts.
ā¢ Build and maintain COBOL programs for batch and online processing systems.
ā¢ Troubleshoot production issues and enhance existing applications.
ā¢ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
Required Experience & Skills
ā¢ 5+ years of experience in custom or application development.
ā¢ Strong business analysis and requirements gathering experience.
ā¢ Hands-on SQL development experience, including queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
ā¢ Hands-on COBOL programming experience (batch and/or online systems).
ā¢ Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
ā¢ Experience working in Agile or structured SDLC environments.
ā¢ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
ā¢ Client-facing experience with the ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements.
Nice to Have
ā¢ Financial services or transactional systems experience.
ā¢ Mainframe knowledge (DB2, JCL).
ā¢ Experience with data integration, conversions, or legacy modernization.
ā¢ Exposure to reporting or analytics tools.
