Cloud Systems Engineer III
The Cloud Systems Engineer will focus on AWS EC2 instance development and management, Linux server support, Kubernetes, building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modernizing on-premises server workloads. As a Cloud Systems Engineer III, you will play a crucial role in deploying solutions for cloud migrations while working in a role to continue to support on-prem Linux servers and storage.
Responsibilities
ā¢ AWS EC2 Engineering: Design, deploy, and manage AWS EC2 instances, optimizing for performance, security, and cost.
ā¢ Work closely with cloud architects to align AWS EC2 solutions with overall cloud architecture.
ā¢ Implement automation for EC2 instance provisioning and configuration.
ā¢ Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive the development and maintenance of IaC scripts and templates for automated infrastructure provisioning.
ā¢ Implement and enhance IaC best practices, ensuring consistent and efficient deployment processes.
ā¢ Collaborate with Platform and DevOps teams to integrate IaC seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline.
ā¢ Linux System Engineering: Architect, deploy, and maintain on-prem and cloud Linux servers ensuring security, scalability, and reliability.
ā¢ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize Linux environments.
ā¢ Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Linux servers.
ā¢ Containerization and Orchestration: Lead the design and implementation of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
ā¢ Develop and enforce best practices for container deployment, scaling, and management.
ā¢ Mentor and guide other engineers in containerization technologies.
ā¢ Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise and guidance.
ā¢ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and best practices.
ā¢ NetApp and Cloud Storage Solutions: Architect and manage storage solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
ā¢ Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues.

Education/Certifications
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
ā¢ AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Engineer - Professional.
Experience/Minimum Requirements
ā¢ 3+ years' experience working as a Cloud Engineer, with a focus on AWS EC2 infrastructure and related services.
ā¢ 5+ years' experience supporting Linux servers in a large-scale environment running both on bare-metal and VMware.
ā¢ Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Packer, AWS CloudFormation, or similar frameworks.
ā¢ In-depth knowledge of on-premises server workloads and experience in automating, modernizing, and managing them as Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
ā¢ Automation and orchestration ā experience with scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, Packer
ā¢ Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing cloud migration strategies and roadmaps.
ā¢ Experience with AWS services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, Amazon VPC, and others.
ā¢ Solid understanding of security and compliance principles in AWS, including IAM, encryption, and network security.
ā¢ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
ā¢ Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
ā¢ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Harness, Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS Code Pipeline.
ā¢ Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies and their application in cloud environments.
ā¢ Experience supporting NetApp storage is preferred.
