Description

ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Cloud Engineer / DevOps Engineerrequiring a Public Trust. The position is 100% remote. Preference will be given to candidates within a drivable distance to Newport, OR and Silver Springs, MD. Travel up to 20% per year is expected.

The Cloud / DevOps Engineer will design, deploy, and optimize Azure-based data environments supporting NOAA’s Marine Operations. This role is critical for implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud resources, and ensuring secure, automated data workflows across shipboard and cloud platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install and configure Azure cloud applications and services
• Lead migration of SAMMS resources between Azure subscriptions
• Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines for production workflows
• Develop cloud dashboards and performance monitoring tools
• Support multi-cloud interoperability with external CSPs
• Implement RBAC and collaborate with OCIO for cloud security governance
• Monitor health and usage of Azure resources
• Troubleshoot deployment issues and update workflows

Basic Qualifications (Required):
• 5 years of experience in Azure Cloud operations and DevOps pipelines
• Strong experience with Azure Storage, Compute, Virtual Machines, and RBAC
• Proficiency with Python/Bash and automation tools (GitHub, GitLab, Azure CLI)
• Experience with Azure Monitor and Application Insights
• Strong documentation and DevOps lifecycle management skills
• Effective communication skills for diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:
• Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification
• Linux certifications
