Clinical Psychologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
The Clinical Psychologist conducts psychological evaluations using clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources as appropriate.
Establish psychiatric diagnoses based on the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders (DSM).
Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups, aiding medical and surgical patients in managing illnesses or injuries.
The Clinical Psychologist assists in the rehabilitation of patients.
Assess mental and emotional health through interviews, tests, collateral sources, and observations.
Offer counseling and therapy sessions to enhance individuals' well-being.
Conduct research to advance understanding of human behavior and develop new treatment methods.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed of the latest research, techniques, and ethical guidelines.
Ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information in all psychological practice.
Respond effectively in emergency situations, following established protocols and documenting events.
The Clinical Psychologist maintains comprehensive documentation of all treatments provided as required by clinic directives.
Clinical Psychologist - REQUIREMENTS
Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
Experience: Shall be required to demonstrate clinical competency for1 year as Clinical Psychologist.
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.
Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
Security: Must possess ability to pass a government background check/security clearance.
