Clinical Implant Specialist (Field-Based) Location: Field-Based (US; Travel Required) Department: Clinical Operations / Medical Education & Training Reports To: Sr. Director of Medical Education & Training Position Summary Synchron is seeking a skilled and mission-driven Clinical Implant Specialist to support the implementation and optimization of the Synchron BCI System implant procedures at clinical sites. This field-based role will lead physician and staff implant procedural training, provide hands-on intraoperative support, and collaborate on refining workflows across the implant continuum. You will play a critical role in enabling safe, accurate, and repeatable implantations that restore digital control to individuals with severe motor impairment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Procedure Support Serve as the on-site procedural expert supporting all phases of the BCI implant procedure: Pre-operative imaging coordination Room and patient preparation Endovascular Stentrode® implantation Transceiver (IRTU) pocket, tunneling and implantation Post-operative device assessment and patient care Guide the clinical team on procedural flow, sterile field setup, and dual-modality access (surgical + endovascular). Provide technical troubleshooting for device handling and connectivity during implantation. Training & Education Deliver field-based training to implanting physicians and surgical teams, using Synchron’s multi-stage curriculum: Online and in-person learning modules Off-site anatomical simulation sessions On-site procedural rehearsals Live proctoring and post-case debriefings Support the continuous improvement of training materials and SOPs based on field learnings and feedback. Workflow Optimization Assess and document procedural practices at each implant site to identify efficiencies and standardization opportunities. Collaborate with internal R&D, clinical, and education teams to refine implant tools and procedural steps. Act as a liaison between field clinical sites and Synchron to ensure safe and successful implants and seamless implementation of protocol and procedural updates. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing, biomedical engineering, neurophysiology, or a related clinical discipline (RN, RCIS, PA, or RT highly desirable). 5+ years of experience in neurovascular, interventional radiology, cardiac device implants, or surgical navigation. Hands-on experience with sterile technique, procedural draping, tunneling, and intraoperative device handling. Strong understanding of human anatomy, especially neurovascular and subcutaneous systems. Experience delivering training to surgical staff and physicians in a field-based or clinical educator role. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Willingness and ability to travel frequently (up to 75%) to clinical trial and future commercial sites across the U.S. and internationally. Compensation The base salary range for this role is $160,000 – $180,000 depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or equity grants subject to board approval and company policy.
