This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Tuesday - Saturday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407. The role includes a comprehensive training program lasting four weeks, with the first two weeks conducted onsite and the latter two weeks remotely. The training schedule will be from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. In this role, you will be responsible for speaking with individuals seeking healthcare records and assisting them with their requests. You will also review electronic chart documentation to ensure accuracy, process release of information requests, manage documentation requests, and maintain medical records across various systems. Additionally, you may train and mentor co-workers, analyze documentation for regulatory compliance, and promote principles of health information accuracy and accessibility. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products is essential as you will be required to create, edit, and manage documents and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities
• Speak with anyone trying to obtain healthcare records and assisting them with their requests.
,
• Review electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
,
• Process release of information (ROI) requests.
,
• Manage requests for documentation and information.
,
• Scan and edit documents in the electronic medical record.
,
• Locate, log, retrieve, file, and deliver medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
,
• Train and mentor co-workers as needed.
,
• Analyze documentation and track completion to meet regulatory requirements.
,
• Promote principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
,
• Work with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for document and email management.
,
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
,
• Must be 18 years of age OR older
,
• 1+ years of Customer Service experience within a hospital or healthcare environment
,
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
,
• Ability to travel between local healthcare facilities
,
• Must have the ability to travel onsite for the first 2-4 weeks to complete training at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407
,
• Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST
,
• Occasional overtime may be necessary.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
,
• Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
,
• A clerical or administrative support background
,
• 2+ years of customer service experience
,
• Experience working in a call center
,
• RHIT or RHIA certification
,
• Bilingual - English/Spanish
,
• Knowledge of medical terminology
,
• Knowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clients
,
• Previous experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds.
