About the Next Gen Institute
The Next Gen Institute (NGI) is a Canadian nonprofit initiative focused on equipping young Canadians with the knowledge they need to understand personal finance, government finance, and civic responsibility.

NGI develops modular, curriculum-aligned educational resources that teachers can integrate directly into existing courses such as CALM, Social Studies, Civics, and Economics. Each module includes a professionally produced 5-minute educational video, a student workbook, a teacher's guide, curriculum mapping aligned to provincial standards, and assessment materials. All resources are provided free of charge to educators across Canada, beginning with a 2026 pilot launch in Alberta.

Position Overview
NGI is looking for a creative and digitally savvy Classroom Content and Social Media Intern to help bring our educational mission to life online and in the classroom. This role is a great fit for someone studying to become a teacher, currently working in education, or simply passionate about both social media and helping young people learn.

You do not need years of experience. You need enthusiasm, a good eye for what works on social media, and a genuine interest in education. You will work closely with our content team and get real responsibility from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media and Digital Content

• Create and schedule posts across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms

• Help grow NGI's online presence and build a community of educators, students, and supporters

• Monitor comments, messages, and engagement and help respond in NGI's voice

• Track basic analytics and share what is working and what is not

• Stay current on platform trends and suggest new content ideas

Slide Decks and Classroom Materials

• Assist in building visually clean and engaging slide decks for classroom use and teacher presentations

• Help format and polish student workbooks, teacher guides, and handouts so they are easy to use in a real classroom

• Contribute ideas for making educational content more interactive and student-friendly

• Support the review of materials to ensure they are clear, accurate, and age-appropriate

Content Support

• Help research topics in personal finance, government, and civics for upcoming modules

• Assist with light scripting or summarizing content into key takeaways for social posts or slides

• Use AI tools to speed up research and drafting tasks

• Assist with publishing and organizing content on the NGI website

Who We Are Looking For
This role is intentionally designed to be accessible. You do not need a completed degree or a long resume. We are looking for someone who genuinely fits one or more of the following:

• You are studying to be a teacher or are in an education-related program

• You are passionate about financial literacy or civics and want to help other young people learn

• You are organized, reliable, and can take initiative without needing constant direction

• You enjoy making complicated things simple and clear

Assets (Nice to Have, Not Required)
• Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar tools

• Experience developing educational materials

• Basic understanding of SEO or content scheduling tools

Compensation and Structure
• Remote within Canada

• Flexible scheduling to accommodate school or other commitments

• Compensation: $16.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience

This is a remote position.
