Civil Engineer I

The Civil Engineer I will support the Civil Engineering teams by using AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and analysis, preparing construction plans, and managing project tasks. Responsibilities Supporting members of our Civil Engineering teams Use of AutoCAD Civil 3D for analysis and design of roadways, trails, sidewalks, water main, sanitary and storm sewer systems, grading and earthwork calculations, and site improvements Use of Microsoft Excel for development of project bid item tables, quantities and cost opinions Prepare construction plans and specifications, site plans, grading and drainage plans, studies and reports for a wide range of public and private infrastructure systems The position may serve as a Field Engineer or assist survey crews during construction of various projects Manage work activities and team responsibilities and report to supervisor and team members on status of project tasks Skills Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field Ability to collaborate in-office, at home, and on job sites Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc Strong written and verbal communication skills Zero (0) to Two (2) years of experience in the Civil Engineering field Previous experience or training with AutoCAD Civil 3D Previous experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word) Previous Civil Engineering or construction experience including internships Ability to read, comprehend and interpret engineering plans and topographic maps Benefits Being 100% employee-owned means we all share in the company’s success Career development through continued education, licensure/certification, skills, and technical training Work arrangements that promote work/life balance Flexible holidays enable individuals to tailor their festivities Paid Family Leave provides time to care for loved ones, whether family by birth or family by choice Company Overview SEH is an civil engineering firm.
