Children's book illustration Character design
Hello
I’m an author developing a children’s picture book called **Soléa the Seed**, set in a Harlem community garden.
The story follows a tiny seed with a big imagination who slowly grows into the flower she was meant to become. A humorous side character, Pip the worm, keeps misinterpreting her dreams along the way.
The manuscript is about **500 words** and structured for a **32-page picture book**.
I’m currently looking to collaborate with an illustrator for:
• character design (Soléa + Pip)
• 1–2 sample spreads
• potentially the full book if it’s a good fit
Style ---- whimsical children’s illustration
storybook watercolor illustration
playful character illustration
soft gouache children’s art
it should feels warm, expressive, and perfect for storytelling.
