An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children & Families Worker to join a dynamic team committed to supporting young people who have been affected by someone's drug and/or alcohol use. You will engage children, young people (CYP) and families in a range of support and interventions relating to familial substance use with the aim of increasing resilience and preventing intergenerational childhood trauma. Where: Bromley Full Time Hours: 37.5 hrs per week Full Time Salary Range: £ 27,861.26 - £ 32,002.35 dependent on experience, pro rata for part time hours Allowance: Outer London Waiting (£ 2,195.72 ) pro rata Contract Type: Permenant Responsibilities: About the role: To holistically support CYP affected by familial substance misuse, using a range of interventions including: 1:1 work, whole family interventions, safety planning and safeguarding To share subject specific knowledge and skills across the team to support work force development To provide advocacy, advice and support to family members where appropriate, to reduce risk and increase resilience To support the development of resources, interventions and programmes to enhance the delivery of ‘hidden harm’ interventions To attend planning meetings, reviews, child protection conferences and any other relevant decision making forums for CYP and families in need of support from the service About you: Experience of working with families who have multiple risk factors Experience of delivering 1:1 and group work, including evidenced based interventions Experience of working with young people, families and children under the age of 18 years who are affected by substance misuse Experience of working in close partnership with key stakeholders including Children’s Services, schools, primary care Experience of undertaking comprehensive assessments, care-planning, case management and reviews Clear understanding of the Hidden Harm agenda (desirable but not essential) What we will give to you: 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays) rising by 1 day for each years’ service “Capped at 30 days” Paid ‘Wellness’ hour each week along with a ‘Wellness’ hub and Employee Assist Programme Contributory pension scheme A great selection of benefits incl. discounts for shopping, cinema, holidays, etc. A friendly and supportive team Training, career development & progression opportunities Refer a friend scheme and receive vouchers if candidate is successful.
