Travel:
25% regional travel across the Caribbean, Latin America, and North America A publicly listed international hospitality and leisure group with a significant presence across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean is conducting a highly confidential search for a Chief Projects and Construction Officer.

This executive will lead the planning, design governance, and delivery of a substantial pipeline of luxury resort developments, large-scale redevelopments, mixed-use destinations, standalone restaurants, and entertainment venues across the region.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the CPO will serve as the organisation’s principal Owner’s Representative, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to world-class standards.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal role responsible for translating corporate growth strategy into tangible developments that define the future of a premium hospitality portfolio. The successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of projects — from concept and feasibility through design, construction, and opening.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development Leadership
• Lead the development pipeline for new resorts, expansions, renovations, and destination projects
• Translate long-term growth strategy into actionable regional plans
• Identify opportunities for innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency

Owner’s Representative Oversight
• Act as principal client representative across major capital projects
• Direct external architects, designers, engineers, consultants, and contractors
• Maintain accountability for scope, budget, timelines, and quality

Architecture & Design Governance
• Provide leadership on architectural direction and design standards
• Oversee design reviews, value engineering, and documentation processes
• Ensure projects balance brand integrity, guest experience, and operational practicality

Project Execution & Delivery
• Guide developments from feasibility through construction and opening
• Coordinate across development, operations, finance, procurement, and marketing
• Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies

Internal Team Leadership
• Lead a multidisciplinary team spanning design, architecture, project management, quantity surveying, landscaping, FF&E, and MEP
• Build capability to deliver multiple large-scale projects simultaneously

Stakeholder & External Relations
• Liaise with governments, regulators, consultants, and community stakeholders
• Represent the organisation in negotiations and industry forums
• Leverage regional networks across contractors, designers, and development partners

Candidate Profile
• Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 20+ years’ experience delivering large-scale hospitality or mixed-use developments
• Direct Owner-side development experience with full accountability for delivery
• Proven track record managing multiple complex projects concurrently
• Deep expertise in construction, cost management, and procurement processes
• Experience operating within organisations that assume development risk
• Strong Caribbean exposure and established regional networks highly desirable
• Background spanning luxury hotels, integrated resorts, F&B, and entertainment assets preferred

Leadership Requirements
• Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and boards
• Strong commercial judgement and decision-making capability
• Collaborative leadership across multicultural, international teams
• Experience managing substantial capital budgets and large departments
