Company Description Rypples is a permanent-capital platform built by two unicorn founders on a mission to accelerate the scaling of ocean-positive solutions by re-inventing venture impact investing. In the grey-to-green transition, we need purpose-built capital solutions to actually bring innovation to scale. Unfortunately, closed-end VC funds optimize for short cycles and power law while lenders and institutional investors are out of reach for growth stage companies. That gap between venture dreamers and debt realists is called the “valley of death”. We think of it as a structural inefficiency and an opportunity to generate significant alpha. Rypples is not a fund but an operating holding company, investing out of balance sheet with the flexible mandate and founder-operator experience to support companies and drive execution excellence from early growth stage through to scale. In the last 12 months, we have already invested in 10 amazing companies across five verticals (Ocean Health, Ecosystems, Data, Maritime and Blue Foods). In ten years, Rypples will have successfully deployed $1bn into 100 ocean positive solutions and established a new capital model for scaling impactful innovation. Job Description We’re hiring a GP-level partner to run the financial and capital side of the platform. You’ll operate at the intersection of finance, investing, and strategy, building the institutional backbone of Rypples and helping our companies scale globally. Your Northstar is to drive exceptional returns for our shareholders. Core responsibilities Investing : Oversee all investments from early stage checks through to growth equity and into structured late stage financing packages. Portfolio Management: Lift portfolio performance by guiding founders through financing strategy, metrics, and exits. Capital Formation: Raise together with the founding partners to build a stable base of mission aligned shareholders Scale stage: Set up and run follow on vehicles (SPVs, co-invests; fund) with institutional-grade governance, reporting, and controls. Investor Relations: Build investor trust, compliance, and transparency at the highest standard ready for public markets. Evangelization: Represent Rypples externally to bring our operating-holding company to mainstream finance audiences. Qualifications You want your career to move the needle for the planet. You’ve done this at scale, likely as a CFO in renewables/climate/infra (developer/IPP) or a PE/growth-equity partner with climate exposure. You’re financially sophisticated, bankable and connected across institutional and infrastructure capital markets; you think from first principles, communicate simply, and operate in founder mode at the edge of your comfort zone.
