This newly created, executive-level position will oversee Data Science, AI/ML, and Business Analytics functions, with a direct impact on company growth, profitability, and decision-making across product, marketing, growth, and M&A.This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a data organization from the ground up within a mission-driven tech company.Who You Are and What You’ll DoDevelop and Own the Data Strategy, Tooling, and InfrastructureDefine and execute a forward-looking, scalable data vision aligned with Mode Mobile’s business goals across both core operations and new ventures.Champion a data-driven culture and align data priorities with company strategy.Oversee the design and scalability of data platforms, pipelines, and BI tools in close partnership with engineering.Ensure the infrastructure supports both self-service analytics and advanced modeling.Build and Lead a World-Class TeamRecruit, develop, and manage a high-performing, globally distributed team of Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Analytics Engineers.Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment focused on innovation, experimentation, and business impact.Deliver Business ImpactCollaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, revenue, and finance teams to define KPIs, build forecasting models, and support experimentation frameworks.Translate complex data into actionable insights that drive user growth, engagement, monetization, and operational efficiency.Advance AI and Automation InitiativesLead the implementation of AI/ML projects across the organization to unlock efficiencies, personalization, and competitive advantage.Identify areas for automation in data capture, transformation, and reporting to streamline operations and reduce manual dependencies.Own Data Governance and QualityCreate and enforce standards for data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all business functions.Promote the ethical use of data and ensure adherence to relevant privacy regulations.Conduct an audit of existing KPIs and dashboards to assess accuracy, relevance, and alignment with strategic objectives.Define and enforce processes for ongoing metric validation and improvement.Identify and prioritize high-impact analytics use cases that inform key business decisions and drive measurable outcomes.Support Strategic Growth & M&AProvide analytical rigor to evaluate acquisition targets, user cohorts, LTV, CAC, revenue models, and integration strategies.Deliver due diligence support and predictive insights for strategic investments.What You Bring to the Team8+ years of experience in data and analytics leadership roles, with 5+ years managing data science teamsProven success in using data to drive business outcomes, product innovation, and strategic planningStrong domain experience in consumer mobile apps, ad tech, or rewards-based platforms (preferred)Deep knowledge of modern data architecture, analytics tooling, and cloud infrastructureExperience developing and deploying powerful machine learning models to optimize business operations and enhance product experiencesExcellent executive communication skills A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a global, remote-first environmentAlignment with our core values:​​Accountable: You take ownership of your responsibilities, demonstrating trustworthiness and self-discipline.
