Opportunity

The Channel Manager, Costco is responsible for executing tactics and strategic marketing activities with an omni-channel focus. You will manage the development, coordination, and implementation of merchandising, marketing plans, strategies, promotions, and programs for the assigned channel. You will also have P&L accountability, including budget ownership. The Channel Manager will also lead and drive engagement with Kohler cross-functional partners in Product Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and Customer Service. This role requires a minimum of five years of retail or e-Tail sales experience.

Primary Objectives
• Contribute to the growth and profitability of the business by identifying, recommending, and implementing the most profitable strategies for the business via long-term marketing strategies and short-term marketing plans.
• Contribute to a higher level of gracious living by aligning marketing programs and pricing plans to the needs, demands and desires of the end customer.
• Support Kohler Co. reinvestment by delivering on aggressive sales forecasts while ensuring an appropriate rate of return on investment.
• Build and maintain marketing strategies and key stakeholder relationships that ensure Kohler Company meets and/or exceeds the end customer’s needs, demands, and desires while delivering an appropriate margin.
• Drive integration between offline and online marketing strategies and tactics to enhance the shopping journey for the end customer.
• Support sustainability initiatives through a relentless pursuit of opportunities to incorporate more environmentally responsible products into marketing campaigns.

Specific Responsibilities
• Plan, forecast, and implement marketing programs and promotions for the channel. Include special promotions, buying opportunities, rebate programs, and ongoing support programs for product categories and market segments.
• Understand trends, potential demand, and competition; make recommendations to develop and introduce new products that increase sales.
• Monitor the success, impact, and contribution of all programs, and communicate this information to management on a timely basis.
• Develop strategies and support programs to increase penetration of Kohler products to include pricing, marketing programs, and communication pieces.
• Develop merchandising and point of purchase material that drives sales and is “on brand.”
• Serve as a liaison between sales and product management. Work with product management to analyze and evaluate the performance of product categories.
• Develop annual business plan for the assigned channel.
• Develop and coordinate policies and guidelines to support long-term objectives.
• Properly present and protect the Kohler brand in the assigned channel.
• Monitor competitor promotions for each product group. Apprise product management of competitor activities and changes in the marketplace.
• Provide Product Management with ongoing analyses and evaluations of performance of initiatives, trends, potential demand, and competition, making recommendations to increase sales.
• Provide guidance and assistance to sales associates to promote Kohler products in accordance with established objectives.
• Drive comprehensive category management strategy across all product categories and channels to increase consumer brand satisfaction and awareness and overall product sell through performance.
• Develop collateral materials and display programs needed in the launch of new products.
• Actively participate in seminars, professional organization meetings, trade shows, etc. to keep abreast of new marketing concepts or other developments germane to the function.
• Properly present and protect the Kohler brand in the assigned channel.

Skills/Requirements

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related subject.
• 4 years of prior experience in sales, marketing, and/or product development, with progressively more responsibility and a track record of results.
• Keen analytical mind, strong on planning, detail and accuracy, and be a demonstrably creative thinker.
• Substantial skills in written and oral communication with all levels of management and outside contacts.

Preferred:
• MBA/MS degree.

Travel
• Travel to trade shows and customer visits as needed, approximately 20%.
