This is a remote position. What you'll do:Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes based on medical documentationEnsure compliance with CMS, payer-specific, and regulatory coding guidelinesReview provider documentation for completeness and query providers when clarification is neededMaintain productivity and quality standardsConduct internal coding audits (retrospective and/or concurrent)Track audit findings and support quality improvement initiativesInvestigate/resolve coding related issuesReview and resolve coding related denials and rejectionsSupport appeal processes with coding validation and documentation reviewCollaborate with internal teams to improve first-pass resolution ratesWhat you'll bring to Zotec:Current Certification – AHIMA or AAPCCompleted ICD10 Certification/Training, preferred2+ years of experience coding Primary Care or Urgent Care coding reportsExperience working coding denialsAbility to work on internet-based coding programsThorough knowledge of medical office operationsProficiency in Microsoft Work, Outlook and ExcelExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsCapable of prioritizing workflow and able to ensure deadlines are metHigh school diploma or equivalent
