Certified Coding Team Lead - Neurology, Pathology, Neurosurgery/NeuroIR, Otorhinolaryngology, Oncolo

Performs as the team lead for the other coders and provide relevant guidance, training and work distribution. Will oversee as well as perform activities in support of all coding/billing in support of revenue cycle and charge entry, to include review of both CPT and ICD-10 code selection, review of billing processes and practices (charge capture) as well as verification of charges for inpatient services, outpatient services, professional billing and surgical procedures; and other duties as assigned. Requires Certification. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • Associate’s degree preferred • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required • 5 years of coding experience is highly preferred • Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding • Knowledge of government regulations as they relate to teaching physician documentation and billing guidelines • Understanding of the importance of compliance with all government, department, and contractual regulations regarding coding and billing; and provider requirements • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Total Rewards The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
