About the position

The Cargo Claims Manager at Charger Logistics Inc. is responsible for overseeing and managing cargo claims within the organization. This role involves ensuring that claims are settled in a timely manner, adhering to industry standards and best practices, while providing exceptional service in a sensitive environment. The position requires collaboration with various departments and customers to streamline the claims process and resolve issues effectively.

Responsibilities
• Serve as primary liaison between customers in the managing of cargo claim subrogation.

• Assist in developing internal claims management policy.
,
• Streamline claims management process.
,
• Investigate, negotiate, and resolve cargo claims to ensure that claims are analyzed for coverage, adjusted, and paid timely.
,
• Maintain and update Claims Management software.
,
• Create reports and coordinate monthly phone calls with customers to track claims and identify obstacles to timely claims resolution.
,
• Maintain knowledge of claims procedures, SOPs, & carrier contracts to ensure claims are adjusted accurately and timely.
,
• Examine customer claims of overage, shortage, and damaged products/loads, including minor to major accidents.
,
• Understand and qualify type of claims filed; investigate and analyze cargo claims for loss, damage, and delays to determine company liability and costs for damage or loss while protecting company and customer interests.

• Collaborate with Sales, Pricing, Operations, and customers regarding disposition of claims.
,
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• 3+ years of cargo claims experience in the transportation, freight forwarding, or 3rd party logistics industry.
,
• College Diploma or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply chain or related field.
,
• Experience in the Logistics / Transportation or Supply Chain industries is an asset.
,
• Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding operational environment, sometimes without detailed direction.
,
• Familiarity with claims management software and Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
,
• Ability to function independently with little or no supervision as well as function in a team environment.
