Job description: On-Board Engineering is Hiring a Capital Project Mechanical Engineer in Hopewell, VA!Position Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, 6 month contract with opportunity for extension predicated upon performance and business need.
Job Location: Hopewell, VA

Compensation: $55 - $70/hr based upon qualifications.Work Environment: Chemical manufacturing site in HopewellOur Client: You will be reporting to the largest single-site producer of both caprolactam and ammonium sulfate in the United States.Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
At least 4 years of relevant experience in the chemical, power, or similar industry
Responsibilities: * Support mechanical engineering discipline scoping and design phases of capital projects.
Understand, apply, and perform work in accordance with industry and client engineering codes and standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, etc.
Tasks associated with mechanical systems and equipment such as piping, pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, valves, etc.
Office design and analysis tasks and field work in an operating chemical plant (awareness of safety processes and procedures and use of PPE necessary).
Preparing and reviewing calculations, analysis, evaluations, reports, equipment specifications, redline drawing markups, scopes of work, etc.
Using engineering and design tools such as CADWorx, Navisworks, Caesar II, Nozzle Pro, SolidWorks FEA, etc.
Selection, analysis, and verification of piping components such as valves, hangers, supports, spring cans, expansion loops, etc.
Understanding P&IDs, PFDs, engineering drawings, line lists, equipment lists, scopes of work, specifications, datasheets, process packages, etc.
