Canva Video Editor Needed | Short-Form Paid Ads With Story and Emotional Arc (3 Formats)
Overview
Financial Modeling Institute is looking for a Canva-native video editor to create a high-quality short-form ad for an upcoming campaign. This is a first project with the potential for ongoing work on campaign ads and social media videos.
The priority is not just βclean edits.β The priority is a clear story and emotional arc in 10 to 20 seconds, built from stock footage and simple motion graphics.
Scope and deliverables
1. Create 1 ad concept (minimum 10 seconds, ideally 10 to 20 seconds)
2. Deliver in 3 formats
1. 1920Γ1080 (landscape)
2. 1080Γ1080 (square)
3. 1080Γ1920 (vertical)
3. Build in Canva so copy can be modified later for A/B testing
4. Use stock footage, graphics, and design elements. No original filming required
5. Provide the Canva link with organized layers, labeled scenes, and editable text
Creative requirements
β’ Strong hook in the first 1 to 2 seconds
β’ Clear narrative progression (problem, tension, resolution)
β’ Emotion-forward pacing, not slideshow pacing
β’ Designed for performance in paid social (Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts style)
β’ Captions or on-screen text that remains readable on mobile
β’ Visual rhythm: intentional cuts, speed ramps or motion where appropriate, and clean transitions
