Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Location: Oakland, CA
Schedule: Full-Time, Current School Year Contract
Compensation: $58-$66 an Hour
Blazer Jobs is interviewing experienced and dedicated Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) for an exciting school-based opportunity in Oakland, CA. This role is an excellent chance to make a meaningful impact by ensuring students with visual impairments receive the tools, instruction, and support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments in K–12 settings
• Adapt general education materials and create accessible resources tailored to individual student needs
• Foster independence and self-advocacy in students through targeted skills instruction
• Collaborate with general and special education staff, related service providers, and families
• Participate in IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance documentation
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education for the Visually Impaired or related field
• Active California Teaching Credential with authorization in Visual Impairments
• Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
