CAD - Claims Counsel, Remote

We are seeking a Disability Claims Counsel to support a Fortune 500 financial services firm. This role is fully remote in Canada.Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of short-term and long-term disability benefit claims to provide expert legal analysis.Analyze and interpret medical records alongside applicable legal standards to support claim assessments.Advise on Canadian tax implications related to disability benefits and the integration of Canada Pension Plan (CPP) disability benefits.Collaborate closely with in-house counsel and external teams to develop legal strategies.Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in claims litigation, with a preferred focus on disability / benefit denial cases.Strong familiarity with medical records, disability law, and related regulatory frameworks in Canada.Solid litigation background with courtroom experience is preferred.Must be licensed to practice law in a Canadian province.Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Compensation, Benefits & Location: This role offers competitive compensation and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace, that includes Medical, dental, and more.
