What you will be doing:
Ford AV is seeking a Back End Business Software Developer to build, improve, and maintain business applications in a Progress based environment consisting of OpenEdge relational databases, 4GL/ABL language, and PASOE data services on Unix/Linux operating systems. The Business Software Developer is responsible for maintaining company character-based Progress programs by updating, modifying, installing and creating applications as requested. This position performs routine systems maintenance of over 10,000 Progress programs, upgrades and installs new Progress versions as they are released, fixes bugs reported to the software development team, and other tasks as assigned.
What we are looking for:
Knowledge of and/or experience with building and maintaining database-driven applications.
Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines
Ability to identify and troubleshoot program issues
Programming experience with ODBC, Progress RDBMS, PASOE, 4GL/ABL preferred
Experience with version control, bitbucket preferred
Experience with Jira a plus
Experience with DevOps/Agile development methodologies preferred
Degree in programming, computer science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience preferred
