Business Intelligence Engineer

Remote Full-time
Job Announcement:

Business Intelligence Engineer

Amid clinical workforce shortages, rising healthcare costs and concerns about inequity, IMPaCT unlocks the power of the grassroots community health workforce.

Here at IMPaCT Care, we get out of bed every day to change lives, with the most effective intervention in the world for addressing health inequity. We find, train and enable Community Health Workers: caring people who keep their communities healthy. We have built the largest and most scientifically-proven Community Health Worker platform in the country, used across 22 states by over 70 organizations like Kaiser Permanente, CVS and United Way. Across multiple randomized controlled trials IMPaCT has achieved outcomes frequently believed to be out of reach, including $2,500 annual savings per patient, improved mental health and a Net Promoter Score of 94. We’re making waves: on CNN, in WaPo, at the Fed…there is even a new Medicare billing code for Community Health Workers that is modeled after IMPaCT.

We’re changing the game, but also know the importance of enjoying the journey. That’s why we have made sure that IMPaCT Care is the place to be! We provide competitive compensation and equity grants, comprehensive benefits and plenty of opportunities for team-building and fun. Plus you get to work from home.

Who you are:

You have a combined background in business intelligence and engineering. You can build, test and analyze reports to generate insights. You have worked with data science and engineering teams and conducted quality assurance on their reports. You are extremely methodologic and detail-oriented. You are a crisp communicator who can translate technical concepts to end users, and vice versa. You have an intuitive feel for data; for example, you understand how outliers affect results, and how to choose the right denominator for a given population health metric. You are excited to be the connector between the heart of the IMPaCT software - our data - and our customer organizations.

What you’ll do: You will own and evolve our analytics, BI, and reporting capabilities while also supporting the operational systems that generate and validate our product data. Specifically, you will:
• Own the Standard Reporting Suite: Collaborate with data scientists and developers to design, refine, and conduct rigorous quality assurance on all 'off-the-shelf' reports
• Drive Business Intelligence (BI): Leverage Excel, Power BI, and Tableau to extract, clean, analyze, and visualize data, delivering critical, actionable insights during customer-facing meetings
• Establish a Custom Reporting Strategy: Partner with customer-facing teams to translate complex business and clinical questions into technical requirements, and design and govern a scalable system for the creation and organization of custom reports
• Support Data Operations & Reliability: Triage customer-reported issues using Datadog logs, metrics, and traces; diagnose data issues versus product defects, collaborating with engineering on resolution, and contribute to root cause analysis and recurring issue prevention

What you bring:
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or analytics
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases for developing, optimizing, and translating complex analytical queries into actionable, data-driven insights.
• Experience with data modeling (star/snowflake schemas) for architecting scalable and efficient data structures.
• Proficiency with data visualization using BI tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with scalable, reliable, and high-performance data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Experience with version control, testing, and CI/CD best practices for data pipelines
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex requirements between technical, product, and customer success teams

One of our core values is to create a diverse workplace that welcomes and values each team member’s unique perspective, background, and ideas. We are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
