About the role RainFocus is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst who loves the power of insightful data to join our team. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a critical role in assisting our clients to understand the health of their events and to help inform their business decisions. You will do this by becoming a master of our data and utilizing your skill in SQL to create effective and insightful reports and dashboards. You’ll be on the front lines of the data needs of our clients, so we will look to your expertise to help guide product direction as well. This role is fast paced and requires someone who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain excellent communication. Responsibilities: • Develop innovative solutions when consulting with clients on their analytical/reporting needs • Use your knowledge of SQL to provide custom analysis support through reports and dashboards • Create effective dashboards with helpful visualizations and KPIs • Communicate professionally and timely with clients and internal team members on the status of analysis projects • Prioritize and manage expectations of projects while handling many at once • Be willing to dig into the data to find the source of data discrepancies and holes • Approach work with an innovative mindset, always looking for improvements and new ways of doing things • Seek to understand the underlying business need behind requests, striving to be a partner in analysis projects instead of just blindly doing • Offer suggestions to enhance the core BI product offering Qualifications: • Proven experience in writing SQL queries to extract data • Experienced with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc • Strong interpersonal skills such as communication, empathy, negotiation, teamwork and a positive attitude • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize responsibilities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Is strong in analytics with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy • Has a unique talent for translating user requirements into actionable deliverables • An eagerness to learn and help • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics (preferred but not required) Bonus Skills: • Has knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (R, Python, SAS etc.) • Understanding of dimensional modeling, database architecture/warehousing, and/or other programming languages • Experience working with marketers, software developers, and business analysts Personal Characteristics: • The best candidates for this position will need to have strong chemistry and a culture fit within RainFocus.
