Business Development Specialist

JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a Business Development Specialist (BDS) who will be responsible for supporting Business Development Activities in North America (NA); by proactively driving end customer quoting activities and process improvements. The BDS will work collectively within the Sales team. This is a remote position and reports directly to the Sr. Business Development Manager.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSManage quoting activities to include generation of Salesforce opportunitiesCreate Salesforce opportunities to manage customer specificationsPrepares and maintains a repository of templates, standard language, and product collateral.Participates in process improvements for quoting and proposal generationParticipates in and delivers rep training on quoting processesParticipates in technical specifications for Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotes (RFQ) and Request for Information (RFI).Engages with internal resources including Offer Management, Engineering, Marketing and Sales OpsCollate competitor information in collaboration with BDM’sAttends and actively participates in Doble and Industry eventsParticipates in qualifying web generated leads to identify sales opportunitiesManages schedule, priorities, travel, and manages company expectations.Provides timely and meaningful trip reports; controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.Ensures that business transactions remain in compliance of the legal requirements of laws and policies such as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Sarbanes–Oxley Act, UK Anti-Bribery Act of 2010, polices of the US Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC"), US sanctions policies and localized trade laws and/or policies.Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Domestic travel may be required up to 30%; valid passport required.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in a business or technical-related fieldREQUIRED EXPERIENCE:Technical Sales experienceElectrical backgroundExperience in using a CRM system such as SalesforceExcellent relationship building skills with internal and external customersThe ability to work in a Team environmentPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Electrical testing background in EMI and Partial DischargeKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Strong communication and teamwork skillsExcellent relationship building skillsClear communication and active listeningExcellent multitasking skillsExcellent customer serviceAbility to process information wellExcellent time managementAttention to detailResults-drivenSelf-motivatedStrong desire to learn new technologies and skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers.
