With a nationwide footprint and opportunities for growth across multiple locations and disciplines, SPL is a place where you can build a career while making a real-world impact.We’re seeking a results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive new business across our oil & gas laboratory and measurement services, including hydrocarbon analysis, fuels and lubricants testing, flow assurance, and custody transfer measurement.In this role, you’ll be on the front lines - engaging refineries, pipelines, terminals, and operators to uncover opportunities tied to product quality, flow assurance, and measurement accuracy. Through proactive outreach, you’ll generate and qualify new business while partnering with sales and operations teams to expand SPL’s presence across energy markets.What You’ll DoProactively prospect and engage new clients through calls, email campaigns, and LinkedIn outreach across oil & gas marketsBuild and develop relationships with refineries, pipelines, terminals, midstream operators, producers, and energy service companiesIdentify and advance opportunities for hydrocarbon analysis, fuels and lubricants testing, flow assurance studies, and measurement servicesUncover client needs related to product quality, custody transfer, blending, and flow assuranceQualify opportunities based on scope, measurement requirements, volume, turnaround expectations, and existing service providersInitiate discussions around analytical methods, instrumentation, and field measurement capabilitiesSchedule meetings and deliver well-defined, qualified opportunities to Account ExecutivesMaintain accurate activity, lead, and pipeline tracking in Salesforce or CRM systemsPartner with laboratory and field teams to align opportunities with technical capabilities, instrumentation, and service capacityConsistently meet or exceed activity, lead generation, and pipeline targets in a metrics-driven environmentPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsWhat We’re Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field strongly preferred Proven experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles, ideally within oil & gas, petroleum, laboratory services, or technical industriesFamiliarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), LinkedIn, and sales outreach platforms preferred Exposure to hydrocarbon testing, fuels and lubricants analysis, flow assurance, or custody transfer measurement is a plusWhat We OfferCompetitive base compensation + performance-based incentivesMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchEmployer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insuranceGenerous paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidaysPaid parental leaveEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Tuition reimbursement and professional developmentSchedule & Work EnvironmentFull-time, remote position Ability to work outside of scheduled hours as needed to meet business needsFrequent in-territory travel by car, including extended periods of sittingOccasional overnight travel (up to 10%) for regional meetings, client engagements, or industry eventsOur Commitment to Diversity & InclusionAt SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
