Business Development Representative

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and developing new business opportunities while building long-term client relationships.ResponsibilitiesActively identify and pursue new business opportunities through outreach, research, calling, networking, and relationship-building activitiesDevelop relationships with target clients aligned with company sales personasResearch and identify prospective customers, projects, and market opportunitiesInitiate first-contact conversations and maintain consistent communication with prospectsRepresent B&M Civil LLC professionally in all external interactionsBuild and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clientsSupport the development of repeat and negotiated work opportunitiesAttend client meetings, site walks, industry events, and networking functionsMaintain consistent follow-up to develop trust and familiarity over timeCoordinate closely with the Sales Manager on key pursuits and account strategyMaintain a regular in-office presence to support sales execution, planning, follow-up, and coordinationQualify opportunities prior to handoff to estimating or leadershipAssist in gathering high-level project information without committing pricing, schedule, or scopeMaintain accurate records of contacts, opportunities, and activity in company tracking systemsParticipate in sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and internal coordination effortsSkillsExperience in construction-related business development, sales, or client-facing roles preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to build rapport and trust with a wide range of client typesSelf-motivated with strong time management and organizational skillsComfortable initiating conversations and developing new relationshipsAbility to travel to job sites, walk uneven terrain, and take measurements and photosAbility to sit, stand, and drive for extended periodsFamiliarity with civil construction, HVAC, or commercial construction markets is a plusBenefitsCombination of salary and performance-based incentivesCompany-provided tablet for field and remote workHybrid work structure with flexibility (field, remote, in-office Fridays)Company OverviewB & M Builders is a family owned and operated company that has been in business since 2005.
