Business Development Manager - North America

Micropol Fiberoptic is looking for a Business Development Manager to strengthen our presence across North America and help accelerate our growth journey.
About the role
As Business Development Manager, North America, you will play a key role in expanding Micropol's business across the region. Working closely with colleagues in both the U.S. and Sweden, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing strategic customer relationships, and strengthening our distributor network.
You will focus on markets including defence, critical infrastructure, industrial applications, and telecommunications, with particular emphasis on the defence sector.
This is a hands-on and commercially driven role where you will own the sales process from prospecting and opportunity development through negotiations, implementation, and long-term relationship management.
Key responsibilities include:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities throughout North America.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, distributors, and strategic partners.

Driving sales activities throughout the entire customer journey.

Developing existing accounts while actively pursuing new business opportunities.

Providing market feedback to support product development and business strategy.

Managing customer information and sales activities within CRM systems.

Planning and participating in trade shows, industry events, and customer visits.

Contributing to the development and improvement of sales and marketing processes.

This position is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States. Travel is required, primarily within North America and occasionally to Europe. You will report to the Regional Sales Manager, based in Cleveland, Ohio.

You combine commercial drive with a genuine interest in technology and are comfortable working with customers in technically demanding industries. You are proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing your territory independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across functions and geographies. As a person, you are professional, trustworthy, and driven by delivering value to customers and results for the business.
Qualifications
Required:
Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management.

Experience managing customer relationships and driving business growth.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Experience within defence, critical infrastructure, industrial technology, telecommunications, or related industries.

Technical background or experience selling technical products and solutions.

Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Valid driver's license.

Willingness to travel throughout North America.

Preferred:
Experience working with distributors and channel partners.

Knowledge of fiber optic technology.

Experience with public procurement or government-related sales processes.
