Job Summary

This senior accounting leadership role presents an outstanding opportunity for a results-driven, customer-focused professional with strong team building aptitude and solid financial management experience. As the Business and Finance Officer, you will lead the Accounting and Fiscal Administration group in providing technical accounting and financial services supporting various key business functions. Reporting to the Financial Services Administrator, you will apply excellent accounting expertise. The ideal candidate has a solid accounting background, strong relationship skills, and a passion for supporting the incredible work of our community-focused teams.

About The Team

The Finance, Budget and Planning group skillfully handles all financial operations and business administration, serving as a vital resource in achieving our broader mission to develop world-class parks and recreation facilities that encourage healthy communities. Our 23 talented staff members collaborate across four sections: Finance Administration, Accounting/Fiscal, Budget/Financial Planning, and Grants/Purchasing. Aligned around shared values of accountability, inclusion, sustainability, and professional growth, we are committed to equitably serving all residents across our vast, 200+ park system.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years overseeing technical accounting and fiscal reporting
• Team leadership experience managing professional accountants
• Expertise with financial software/BI tools
• Knowledge of accounting standards and principles
• Sharp quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills
• Strong communication skills with various audiences
• Organized and effective at managing multiple priorities
