Business Analyst - Advanced Data Analytics
About the position
Business Analyst (Contract) ā Advanced Data Analytics Location: New York, NY (hybrid/in-office at least 3 days per week) Our client is a leading independent financial advisory firm serving boards, management teams, and shareholders on major strategic decisions. It also provides capital-raising, equity services, and wealth management through a global office network.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into clear requirements for AI, ML, and analytics products
ā¢ Act as the bridge between technical teams and front-office stakeholders to keep delivery aligned
ā¢ Own UAT planning and execution, including test plans, issue triage, and closure
ā¢ Manage and maintain the firm's data demand intake pipeline and demand register
ā¢ Track and communicate demand status, data readiness, and support governance efforts as needed
Requirements
ā¢ 5+ years as a Business Analyst on complex cross-functional initiatives in financial services
ā¢ Front-office exposure in investment banking, capital markets, private equity, venture capital, or hedge funds
ā¢ Experience supporting AI, ML, or data science products
ā¢ Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills
ā¢ Ability to lead UAT planning, testing coordination, issue triage, and resolution
ā¢ Strong communication skills across technical teams, bankers, and senior executives
ā¢ Proactive, independent, and solutions-oriented approach in fast-moving environments
ā¢ Ability to assess product usability and provide actionable UX feedback
ā¢ Familiarity with generative AI tools and practical use cases
ā¢ Business requirements elicitation and documentation
ā¢ Stakeholder management across business and technical teams
ā¢ UAT planning, coordination, and issue resolution
ā¢ Communication and presentation skills across multiple seniority levels
ā¢ Analytical thinking with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
Nice-to-haves
ā¢ Experience with enterprise data platforms, lakehouses, BI modernization, or data governance
ā¢ Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms
ā¢ Experience with BI/data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
ā¢ Ability to analyze data using SQL or Python
