Business Analyst | YMCA Association | $61,500 - $82,000 At a glance: The YMCA of the North—one of the largest and most dynamic nonprofit organizations in the region—is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team. In-Person Attendance Requirement: Candidates must be located within reasonable commuting distance and able to adjust their schedule as needed to support regular, often daily, in-person collaboration. The salary range for this position is at $61,500 - $82,000. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status. Job Summary: The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing data and conducting research to inform strategic priorities, business planning, and key organizational initiatives. Gather, analyze, and interpret internal and external data; conduct market and business research; and prepare insights and recommendations that guide decision-making across the organization. This role strengthens the YMCA’s ability to connect strategy, implementation, and results by providing analytical capacity that supports strategic planning, initiative design, business case development, and performance measurement. Essential Functions: Strategic & Business Analysis Conduct research and analysis that support strategic priorities, business planning, and enterprise initiatives. Gather, organize, and validate internal and external data sources (operational, market, and participant insights). Analyze business performance, program outcomes, and portfolio trends across initiatives and areas of the organization. Perform analyses using internal systems (TractionRec, Salesforce, Medallia) and external data sources. Conduct market and environmental analysis including industry trends, competitor benchmarks, and demographic insights. Assist with pricing, value, and program performance analysis by preparing models and organizing supporting data. Strategic Decision Support & Measurement Prepare analyses, briefing materials, and decision-support documents for leadership discussions and cross-functional initiatives. Translate complex data into clear insights, visualizations, and recommendations for diverse audiences. Support evaluation and measurement of program outcomes, initiative performance, and organizational impact. Develop evaluation tools and collect outcome data to support performance analysis. Maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools in coordination with the Data Team. Cross-Functional & Operational Support Support data gathering and analysis for cross-functional initiatives led by the AVP, Senior Project Managers, or other partners as identified. Provide analytical support to initiatives related to strategy, operations, market development, and organizational performance. Maintain research files, insight repositories, dashboards, and planning tools used by the Strategic Insights & Partnerships team. Track analytical deliverables and ensure timely completion of analysis and reporting. 3. Relationships: This position reports to the Associate Vice President of insights and Partnerships who reports to the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. The incumbent collaborates with branch and/or program leaders as well as with the internal team and consultants. The incumbent represents the Association to external partnerships, vendors, and peer institutions. 4. Qualifications: Required : Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, economics, statistics, public health, or related field; demonstrate experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum three (3) years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, research, evaluation, or related analytical roles. Experience with analytical tools, spreadsheets, dashboards, or reporting systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear summaries. Understanding of data governance and data quality practices. Experience working cross-functionally with IT, operations, finance, or other departments. Comfort working with ambiguity and building clarity in evolving environments. Preferred : Experience working in nonprofit, healthcare, or community-based organizations. Experience with dashboard tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Experience supporting strategic planning, program evaluation, or cross-functional initiatives. Bi/multilingual. 5. Work Conditions: · Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods.
